Update on Hwy.59
WILLMAR, Minn.–The Highway 59 shoulder widening and culvert lining project from south of Clarkfield to Yellow Medicine County Road 3 has been delayed until Monday, July 19, due to wet soil conditions. The project was scheduled to begin July 12.
When the project starts July 19, Highway 59 southbound motorists will be detoured west on Highway 67, south on Yellow Medicine County Road 9, east on Yellow Medicine County Road 3 to Highway 59.
The project is scheduled for completion on September 3, 2010, weather permitting.
The Burglar was Captured!
Jason Deling and Dave Ellingson caught the burglar. He was located at Justice Park under the bridge. Jason and Dave will receive the $50.00 cash prize.
Temporary access closures on Highway 23 south of Marshall begin July 7
Motorists will encounter temporary access closures along Highway 23 south of Marshall from the junction of Lyon County Road 5 to 3/4 miles east of Russell due to paving operations on the two-lane segment beginning July 7. The temporary access closures are intermittent and will open and close frequently. The temporary access closures will remain in effect until Sept.10. The project is expected to be completed October 15, weather permitting.

911 Memorial Park Fundraiser 
911 Memorial Park will commermorate one of the most significant events in our nation's history. The Marshall Fire Department acquired a beam from the rubble of the World Trade Center in New York City. This inspiring memorial will celebrate our nation's capacity to survive and overcome adversity and at the same time symbolize the renewal and resolve of a nation which came together that fateful day. The 911 Memorial will be the focus and a gathering place for our revitalized downtown and will honor the public safety personnel who sacrificed their lives in an effort to save others. Read More

Quality Assurance
The Quality Assurance operation will be conducted over the next 2 months. A small percentage of households will receive a follow up phone call or a visit from a census taker to ensure that the data we collect is as accurate and complete as possible. In addition, we will also re-interview a small percentage of households that were visited by census takers to confirm that every one of our 600,000 door-to-door workers followed our training and performed their job correctly.
